Calvary's Media Director is a full-time proactive, self- starter with a spiritual care and passion to help Calvary Church engage with our community through a variety of social media platforms and effectively communicate and expand the mission and vision of Calvary Church



  • Attend and participate in weekly Team Meetings, scheduled staff meetings and development times

  • Work with the Lead Pastor to design, evaluate, and implement weekly worship services

  • Responsible for the content creation of all services, sermon series, and events (including video selection & creation, all graphics and backgrounds, and other creative elements)

  • Recruit, mentor, and train team volunteers

  • Create high-quality graphics, designs, and visuals for digital, web, print, and social media church-wide using Adobe Creative Suite on Mac

  • Take assigned tasks and creatively execute strategies for use on multiple platforms

  • Create designs for events and marketing (posters, slides, banners, brochures, flyers, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the ministry team, staff, and department leaders to conceptualize visions and ideas to effectively develop and produce digital, web, print and social media promotional material that fit within the church's overall branding and social media strategy

  • Regularly update website/social media with visuals and ensure the brand is consistent with Calvary's mission and vision

  • Maintain a Christ-like example through all social media platforms to better engage with the community and the un-churched

  • Address questions and concerns posted to Calvary Church's social media accounts

  • Review and analyze church technology trends and make recommendations to the Lead Pastor and ministry team on practical, effective steps to help Calvary Church move forward

  • Intentionally stay up to date on current trends within marketing and communication

  • Capture special events and weekend services

  • Develop, write, edit, and produce scripts as needed.

  • Develop and communicate vision for all work to solve problems concisely and creatively.

  • Collaborate with the team to budget, cast, scout, and produce work.

  • Manage the technical aspects of digital media, including cameras, sound, lighting, design, etc.

  • Handle the post-production process to ensure all work solves problems appropriately.

  • Understand the context finished work will be used to create more effective final products.


  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him

  • Experience in leading and developing teams

  • Skilled in graphic design, video editing, audio recording and edit

  • Competency in media, audio, and lighting.

  • Excellent relational skills

  • Skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships

  • Demonstrate financial responsibility

  • Proficient with Mac OS X

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite

  • High quality photography and videography experience

  • Always thinking of new and innovative ways to share the mission of Christ through media to the public

  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) and creative thinker

  • Ability to proofread content and check for both theological and grammatical errors as needed

  • Ability to effectively create content for all social media platforms

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proven ability to meet expectations and deadlines in a timely manner while working with minimal supervision or alone

  • Flexible and teachable

  • Skill in organizing and completing tasks with speed, efficiency, and accuracy Ability to prioritize and execute tasks as assigned

  • Creative and able to think outside of the box

  • Create appealing, on-trend, practical web designs

  • A basic knowledge of web coding

 Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related media experience

  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Calvary Church and adherence to Calvary's Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreements and Statement of Faith

  • Growing Christian faith and character

  • An understanding of current trends in social media and how they can effectively be used within the work of the church

  • Clear understanding of how to communicate visually within a church setting

  • Ability to manage people

  • Attend Calvary Church
