Where People Matter and God is experienced

Pastor John Bowman

Family Life Pastor

Family Life Ministry

Within the Family Life Ministries it is our vision to build Christ centered families through biblical principles. It is our desire to partner together with families to help their home become a place of discipleship.

In Deuteronomy 6:6-7 God gives parents instructions on how to teach their children about Him. We want to help. We have developed a team of people that are committed to helping families grow in the Lord. If there is any thing that we can help you with please let us know.

Calvary Kids

Calvary Kids is a special church experience for kids 5-12 years old. Each service your child will experience exciting praise and worship, games, bible stories, and a message geared to help kids connect and grow in their relationship with God. This is offered during our 9:00am and 11:00am services on Sunday mornings.

national Girls ministry (NGM)

Every Wednesday night at 7pm, girls ages 3-18 can attend this action packed club. This program for girls is all about fun, activities, learning, and achievement. The vision of this ministry is to reach, teach, and train girls for Christ.

royal rangers (RR)

The Royal Rangers program is an activity-based, small group church ministry for boys and young men in grades K-12. Our mission is to evangelize, equip and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders. We provide Christlike character formation and servant leadership development for boys and young men in a highly relational and fun environment.

We provide nursery care during our Sunday morning services. Nursery is provided during every service. We take pride in taking care of your little one in a safe, Christian environment while you catch a break and enjoy a worship service. The infant, walker and two-year-old nurseries are located in the east wing of the Sanctuary. The three and four-year-old nurseries are located upstairs in room 204 of the Education Center (with the exception of Wednesday night when children age three and four attend a class for the NGM/RR program).

All you have to do is sign in your child, grab a pager, and we will be sure to alert you if a need arises. Only approved workers are permitted to care for your children during services to ensure quality care and a safe, loving environment.

Men Ministry

Calvary Men is a group designed to encourage men to serve the Lord with all their heart, mind and strength.  In this day and age where the role of men has been minimized and distorted, Calvary seeks to empower men to take their role as the spiritual leader of their homes; not by domineering, but by modeling after Christ and living a sacrificial life for their families as servant leaders.

We have several ways the men of Calvary gather together. We have small groups, retreats and golf outings just to name a few. We invite you to come out and connect with other men at Calvary at one of our events!

Creative Arts Ministry

The Creative Arts Ministry provides numerous opportunities for you to worship God by using your talents in creative expression to share the gospel.

You can be involved through special music with your voice, instrument or another creative expression.  Our twice yearly dramatic musicals allow for many creative expressions through drama, singing, dancing, sewing costumes, or set design and construction.  We work in conjunction with the Technical team to produce these outreach productions.

For some people, their gifts or abilities are left on the sideline after high school or college; but here at Calvary, we encourage you to step forward and use your abilities to help people experience God’s presence and life-changing power.

Care Ministry

CARE (Concerned About Reaching Everyone) is a ministry of compassion that serves people within the church and local community.  CARE expresses the love of Christ by: connecting with people through phone calls and visits, meeting emotional and spiritual needs through small groups, and addressing physical needs through benevolent outreach.

The CARE Ministry lets people know they matter. Whether through telephone calls from the Care Callers or home visits from the Visitation Ministry, CARE connects with people.  In the midst of our high-technology society, CARE recognizes the importance of personal contact.  By these contacts, the church is made aware of needs that may otherwise go unnoticed.

CARE has several small groups that help people connect with others facing similar challenges in life. The GriefShare group helps people journey through the process of grief after losing a loved one. Hope Keepers small group encourages those dealing with chronic illness to keep faith in God even in the midst of daily pain.  CARE also has team members available who can give advice to those caring for aging parents.

CARE ministries are focused on serving others. Senior Connection does Bible studies and sings hymns in local nursing homes. CAIR Force provides assistance to spouses of deployed military members; assistance could ranges from auto repair to baby sitting. Hospitality prepares repast meals for families after funeral services and also help cater church events. Prayer Callers and Prayer Chain members connect with people in need by lifting prayer concerns to the Lord.

CARE is not only a ministry of compassion but also a ministry of action.  Connecting with people and letting them know they are cared for is the heart of the ministry. However, it doesn’t stop there. Helping to meet the need is the goal, because we are Concerned About Reaching Everyone.

Counseling Ministry

The counseling ministry at Calvary is a preventive, therapeutic, and support ministry designed to meet the emotional and spiritual concerns of people in our community. We are not a professional counseling center but we do believe that mentorship is a powerful way to assist others in a hurting and disconnected society. One heart touching another heart can create life-changing power from God to affect change in those who are hurting or desire a touch of His healing compassion. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere of learning and support to provide care for those who are hurting as well as preventing future problems through mentorship and teaching.

Other elements of the counseling ministry include periodic seminars and classes designed to educate on relevant issues regarding emotional and spiritual health as well as relationship success. Support groups are also a helpful way to help people with various issues.

Burden Bearer

“Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”  (Galatians 6:2)

This is a mentorship ministry involving trained volunteer lay people whom assist others who are experiencing struggles and crisis in their lives. It is a joining together with them to help them experience the healing touch of God.

Marriage Mentor Ministry

This ministry desires to see marriages function in a healthy way by sharing God’s design for them with compassion and accountability. Marriage Mentors is a ministry of couples open to help other couples enhance their relationship. It consists of two focuses:

Pre-Marital Focus

Assisting couples who desire to be married to explore relevant issues that would help them to have a healthy marriage.

Existing Marriage Focus

Assisting married couples that struggle with issues in their marriage find a healing touch that will carry them to a healthier journey together.

Community Groups

“It is only within the community that there is the possibility of knowing and being known, loving and being loved, serving and being served, celebrating and being celebrated.” - Gilbert Bilezikian

Community groups at Calvary are driven by the goal to see followers of Christ connected and growing together, connected and growing in God and connected to the mission of reaching our unbelieving community with the love of Jesus.

About Groups

On the "Find a Group" page, you will see that we divided groups into two classifications: Discipleship Groups and Connect Groups.

Discipleship groups are intentional at helping a new or seasoned follower of Jesus grow in their faith. These groups focus on fellowship and practicing spiritual disciplines, such as prayer, Bible study and serving. An unbeliever can also benefit from a discipleship group if desired. Examples: Support groups, prayer, Bible and book studies.

Connect groups focus on Christian fellowship and providing a friendly, fun and inviting atmosphere for those who may be an unbeliever or typically do not go to church. Examples: Motorcycle group, Hoofbeats (horse riding) group and home fellowship groups.

Community groups meet on Wednesday’s, Sunday’s and various times throughout the week. Please read carefully for times and locations and always contact your group leader in case the times or locations have changed!

Calvary Backstage

Why backstage? because WE become invisible, WE work behind the scenes so that God may be glorified.

Backstage is a group of dedicated volunteers who dedicate their time to worship God with technical skills. We take the information coming from the stage and amplify it with the help of technology. Audio, Visuals, or Lighting, are the key components to a Sunday morning experience. We do all we can, so all may know

If you have a technical skill set or experience with any type of live audio engineering, or lighting and want to know more how you can get involved, we would love to get you plugged in with our technical team!

Special Music

There are many opportunities to serve creatively on a Sunday morning. One of those is special music.

If you have a musical talent such as playing an instrument, singing a solo, you can audition to serve in one of our Sunday services!
